Extending upstream from LLangurig Bridge for approximately 3.7kms is the Upper Clochfaen beat. Much of this stretch is easy wading and very open with little to snag your back cast.

Using the same directions as the previous page to LLangurig, turn left just before LLangurig bridge and park in the public car park. Walk to the river from here. The Voucher Box for the Upper Beat is located on the upstream side of the bridge.

Species: Trout, Grayling, late season salmon
2004 Catches: The Clochfaen Beat fished well throughout 2004. Trout to 2.5lbs, grayling to 2lbs
Foliage Factor: Mostly, clear with much of the beat fishable from the bank
Ideally fished with: 7.5 to 8.5, 3 to 6wt rod
Restrictions: No dogs
Catch & Release of all species: Anglers to move upstream only when fishing
